Another new pico projector has been introduced by 3M, the CP45. The new HD camcorder features an embedded pico projector capable of producing up to 20 lumens at SVGA (800×600) resolution from an LCOS imager. The internal 2,100 mAH rechargeable battery of the CP45 is said to run the projector for up to 100 minutes. A built-in personal media player (PMP) can display images and video from the 2GB of on board storage, an optional microSD card, Composite Video input or iPhone/iPad/iPod connection (optional cable required). The CP45 will retail for US$299, but availability was not disclosed.

PMA’s projector market research is now tracking six projector camcorder models, including three from Sony and one model each from Aiptek, Ordro and Rollie.
